I'm Graham Godwin-Pearson, a Conservative campaigner working across the Cheddar Valley, including Axbridge, Shipham, the Allertons, Compton Bishop and the villages to the south.
Between 2019 and 2023 I served as a Sedgemoor District Council for Axevale and I remain active on environmental issues, road safety, improving facilities and supporting local businesses.
I am also a school governor at Weare and Wedmore Academies and live locally with my young family.
My priorities
- Improving road safety and pedestrian and cycle access, including reducing speed limits in accident hotspots and near schools and nurseries and rethinking dangerous junctions and the Gorge
- Collecting more kerbside recycling, especially plastics
- Protecting the environment and improving biodiversity
- Fighting unsightly large developments, while - within the schemes already planned - meeting affordable homes quotas with high quality, environmentally-sensitive housing
- Better facilities, especially for young families, and improving broadband, while minimising disruption while it's being installed
- Supporting local schools and businesses
